The Global Solar Council (GSC), the worldwide representative body for the photovoltaic industry, has announced its newly formed management and strategy board, assembling industry representatives and senior executives from across the global solar and clean energy sector.
The majority of board members hail from national and regional solar industry associations worldwide. Notable corporate appointees include Fiona Hiu, Head of Corporate Affairs at Chinese inverter and BESS manufacturer Sungrow; Philipp Matter, Europe & Americas President of GCL System Integration Technology; Dinesh Dhamija, Chairman of Romanian PV firm Ruserio Solar; and Hassen Bali, Co-founder of Ion Ventures.Sonia Dunlop, CEO of the Global Solar Council, welcomed the incoming directors in a statement.
“A warm welcome to all our new and returning Board Directors – an absolute pleasure to have you on board at the helm of the global solar and storage industry. You are the captains of industry. We look forward to working with you to solve the industry’s challenges and build a bigger, better, stronger GSC,” Dunlop remarked.
Appointed as GSC CEO in November 2023, Dunlop was tasked with advancing global solar policy advocacy and accelerating worldwide solar deployment. Previously, she outlined her strategic ambition to elevate the solar industry’s policy influence to match that of the oil and gas sector in global political and regulatory discourse.
