Sungrow & Nuveen Infrastructure Seal 1.32 GWh BESS Framework Agreement for European Renewable Portfolio

Sungrow, a leading Chinese inverter and energy storage manufacturer, and global infrastructure investor Nuveen Infrastructure have inked a landmark 1.32 GWh framework agreement to deliver battery storage solutions for Nuveen’s renewable assets across Europe.

Under the multi-year supply deal, Sungrow will supply 302 sets of its liquid-cooled PowerTitan 2.0 utility-scale BESS alongside 77 medium-voltage systems to support Nuveen’s expanding European project pipeline.

The partnership also includes a comprehensive long-term service package, which guarantees 98% system availability, extended warranties on core components, scheduled annual preventive maintenance, and round-the-clock global technical support to secure stable long-term asset operation.

Jordi Francesch, Global Head of Asset Management at Nuveen Infrastructure Clean Energy, commented that the framework equips Nuveen’s portfolio subsidiaries with top-tier Tier 1 storage hardware and data-driven operational tools, enabling its European renewable assets to deliver higher flexibility amid the region’s evolving power grid landscape.

Javier Izcue, Vice President of Sungrow Europe and Regional Head for Southern Europe, the UK and Ireland, stated the deal marks a critical milestone to accelerate large-scale energy storage rollout across Europe. Sungrow will leverage this cooperation to back the energy transition in key European markets including Spain and Italy.

This latest contract extends Sungrow’s rapid expansion of PowerTitan 2.0 deployments throughout Europe. In July 2025, the firm secured a separate 2.4 GWh supply agreement with Sunotec covering Bulgaria and wider European territories, underscoring robust market demand for its liquid-cooled storage platform.
