Chinese PV manufacturer LONGi unveiled its new containerized mobile solar product LONGi BLOCK during last week’s Intersolar Europe exhibition in Munich, targeting large-scale remote off-grid industrial scenarios including mines, construction sites and military bases.
Separately, the firm announced an 80 MW back-contact module supply contract for two utility solar projects developed by Faria Renewables in Greece’s Thessaly region.
Launched as a plug-and-play mobile PV system, LONGi BLOCK eliminates complicated ground foundation works and lengthy land approval procedures to deliver instant clean power for remote sites. A six-person team can fully commission one unit within three to four hours with one-button operation. Two standard container specifications are available:
- 20HC version: 184 X10 single-glass back-contact modules, 119.6 kW capacity
- 40HC version: 368 X10 single-glass back-contact modules, 239.2 kW capacity
All inverters are pre-installed in containers before shipment from China. European deployments pair LONGi modules with GoodWe GT series string inverters, while alternative inverter brands are adopted for other global markets. Engineered for harsh environments, the X10 back-contact modules guarantee stable operation under tough outdoor conditions. The 20HC unit withstands operational wind speeds up to 21 m/s; optional ground anchors and reinforced steel structures boost wind resistance to 56 m/s for storm-prone territories. LONGi disclosed competitive LCOE figures of 5.14 US cents/kWh in Poland and 4.70 US cents/kWh in Ukraine for the BLOCK system.
In parallel project updates, LONGi will supply over 125,000 Hi-MO 9 back-contact modules totalling 80 MW to two Greek solar assets owned by Faria Renewables: the 45.51 MW Athamas plant in Almyros and the 36.15 MW Mykonos facility in Farsala. Hi-MO 9 modules combine high power output to optimize land utilization with enhanced structural durability.
