July 1,Greenvolt Power and BYD Energy Storage have sealed a supply agreement for the landmark Siedlce battery energy storage system (BESS) in Poland, which also officially kickstarts the project’s construction phase, the two firms jointly announced.
Boasting a capacity of 600 MW/2.4 GWh, the Siedlce facility will rank as Poland’s biggest battery storage asset and stand among Europe’s top-tier large-scale BESS projects.
Construction work is slated to launch in Q3 2026, while full commercial operation is expected to be achieved by the end of 2027. The project is guaranteed stable revenue streams via Poland’s capacity market framework, with BYD Energy Storage delivering its Haohan utility-grade battery system to power the site.
This latest cooperation extends the long-standing alliance between Greenvolt Power and BYD Energy Storage. Back in March 2025, the pair inked supply contracts for two Polish storage developments, Turośń Kościelna and Nowa Wieś Ełcka. Each project holds a 200 MW/800 MWh capacity, summing up to a total energy volume of 1.6 GWh.
