HiTHIUM, a global leading energy storage technology provider, has secured a major supply agreement with Global Power Generation (GPG), the renewable energy arm of NATURGY Group, to deliver a 421MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) for the Fraser Coast project in Queensland, Australia.
Under the newly signed deal, HiTHIUM will supply 84 units of liquid-cooled BESS for the landmark project. Beyond core equipment delivery, the company will offer a full spectrum of one-stop services covering system design, manufacturing, factory acceptance testing (FAT), DDP delivery, on-site commissioning, as well as ongoing technical support and professional training. Leveraging its mature end-to-end integrated delivery model and rich experience in global large-scale energy storage deployments, HiTHIUM will deliver full-cycle support for the utility-scale project, spanning engineering design, system integration, commissioning and long-term after-sales service.
Marking the first utility-scale collaboration between HiTHIUM and GPG, the strategic partnership paves the way for deeper future cooperation amid the rapid expansion of Australia’s renewable energy and battery storage market.
The Fraser Coast BESS is an advanced AC-coupled energy storage facility, connected to the 33kV switchgear of a nearby solar farm, enabling flexible charging from both the on-site solar power plant and the public electricity grid. Equipped with robust grid-forming capabilities, the system will deliver key grid services including energy arbitrage and Frequency Control Ancillary Services (FCAS). It will effectively enhance local power grid stability, boost grid operational flexibility, and accelerate the integration and consumption of renewable energy in the region.
