October 19 — LONGi has announced the signing of a global framework cooperation agreement with ENGIE, the world-leading energy group, in Paris, France.
Under the deal, LONGi will supply 800 MWp of high-efficiency back-contact (BC) photovoltaic modules alongside 500 MWh of energy storage products. The equipment will back ENGIE’s development and construction of PV and energy storage assets across key European and global markets over the next two years.
The partnership builds on a proven track record of prior collaboration. LONGi, ENGIE and PowerChina previously jointly delivered the 1.5 GW Al Dhafra (Hazna) PV project in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
LONGi supplied 1.1 GW of its Hi-MO 9 high-efficiency BC modules for the development, which delivered robust generation reliability amid the site’s harsh high-temperature desert operating conditions. Upon full commissioning, the facility will cut annual carbon emissions by 2.4 million tonnes and power roughly 160,000 households.
Drawing on technical validation and mutual trust established through the Al Dhafra scheme, ENGIE has extended the cooperation into energy storage to scale up integrated solar-plus-storage deployments. The 500 MWh of energy storage capacity covered by this framework will deploy LONGi ONE, the company’s full-stack solar-storage solution.
LONGi ONE was launched for the European market at Intersolar Europe 2026, engineered to resolve widespread industry challenges including disjointed multi-vendor integration, suboptimal system synergy and fragmented accountability boundaries. Powered by its native integrated architecture, the storage system achieves an AC round-trip efficiency (RTE) of up to 93.5%. Cluster-level management technology boosts the system’s full-lifecycle usable capacity by 7%, shifting solar-storage deployments from basic hardware aggregation to deep system integration.
She Haifeng, LONGi Vice President and General Manager of LONGi Energy Storage (Jingkong), noted that solar-storage integration has become an industry imperative, with native integration serving as the cornerstone to address longstanding sector pain points.
This 500 MWh energy storage framework contract represents a key milestone for LONGi Energy Storage in winning business with top-tier global energy groups. LONGi’s storage offerings have already earned traction with multiple European energy operators, and the LONGi ONE full-stack solar-storage solution is accelerating rollouts across Italy, Romania and other regional markets.
The agreement underscores LONGi’s ongoing evolution from a pure PV hardware supplier to a comprehensive clean energy solution provider, while expediting the global expansion of its integrated solar-storage business.
Zhong Baoshen, Chairman of LONGi, said he aims to further strengthen the long-term, stable strategic partnership with ENGIE. By combining the two firms’ industrial strengths, they will advance flagship solar-storage projects around the world, broaden cooperation deliverables and collectively drive the global clean energy transition.
